PBAT+PLA granules
Compatibility: Melt blending of PBAT and PLA is a physical modification method, but their solubilities differ significantly, resulting in poor compatibility and difficulty in achieving uniform mixing. Therefore, compatibilizers, such as plasticizers and reactive compatibilizers, need to be added during the blending process.
Mechanical Properties: PLA and PBAT have complementary mechanical properties. By adjusting their ratio, a mass ratio with good overall performance can be found.
Degradation Performance: The initial degradation reaction of a material involves the entry of water molecules and subsequent hydrolysis. PBAT alone, due to its rigid ester bonds, is difficult for water molecules to penetrate, thus hindering degradation. PLA molecules, on the other hand, are easily attacked by water, leading to internal degradation. Therefore, the higher the PLA content, the faster the material degrades. By adjusting the ratio of PBAT to PLA, the degradation rate can be controlled.
